Fall
Its been a while since Ive blogged. We have been really busy the last couple of months and just haven't had time to just sit down and get on the blog. Brian will be performing in our Church's Dinner Theater in Nov. He has also ran 3 races in less than 5 weeks. Grand Island Half marathon, The Buffalo Run and Kansas City Full Marathon. Right after the Buffalo Run he came down with pneumonia. Took off 2 weeks from running then had to get his but in gear and finish his training for the KC Full. Colin is still going to OT and Speech Thearpy once a week. He graduated from PT a couple of weeks ago. He had his last swallow study and passed and no need for swallow thearpy. He is loving going to his "Big Boy School"(ECSE- Early Childhood SPecial Education) every day. His teachers are great. He is also officially potty trained. He woke up one morning and decided that was it no more diapers or pull ups. Colin has been dealing with some asthma issues so far this fall. Not sure what is going on so we are going to go see a new ENT to see what he thinks about his sinuses and tonsils. Now time for some pictures.

The Loss of Riley Cat.
Brian and I had to make a decision on June 30th on our cat Riley. It was a hard decision but we knew it would be best for him and us. The week before Riley became pretty sick and Brian took him into the vet to be treated for a UTI. Well the UTI was so bad that he had to have surgery to remove a blockage. He came out great and spent a couple of days at the vet. Brought him home and he started to vomit ever time we gave him his meds. That lasted a couple of days, talked to the vet over the weekend, stopped the meds. Noticed that he was no longer eating much. Took him into the vet on the 29th for a recheck everything looked good. started him on a new med. immediatly started vomiting again. Took him into the vet the next day to see what was going on, And the vet called us that evening with the grim news on him. He was in Liver Failure! He had lost a pound in a weeks time, which isn't good on a 17pound cat. And that is why he was in liver failure. The treatment for him would be painful and cost us alot of money and time and then it still might not help him. Force Feedings every 3 hours around the clock for the next 6 months, twice daily trips to the vet for shots or spend the next 6 months at the vet so they could do it.. Not the life we wanted to put our cat through. We made the decision as a family and went over to the vet to say goodbye. We miss our fun loving, playfull, cuddly cat. Life is sure different around here without him. Colin and Riley played so well together and Riley put up with so much with Colin crawling all over him, kicking him in bed, pulling on his tail and Riley would just lay there. Zoe (our other cat and his sister, same litter) is slowly getting use to Riley being gone, she still on occassion will go around to every room meowing for him. These are a couple of pics we took his last day, night and about a couple of weeks before he got sick.

Long overdue
So I have realized over the last couple of weeks I haven't updated since the beginning of May. My time sure does fly when you are busy. After Marathon weekend Brian started up with his running again and officially signed up for the Kansas City Marathon in Oct. and it looks like he will also be doing one in Nashville in April. LPS is out for the summer and Colin is getting a break for a couple of weeks until his Summer School starts up. We have made the decision with his LPS teacher that he will go centerbase program next year for school and move away from the homebase program. Brian and Colin went and had a visit at Clinton the week after the marathon and got to see his classroom for next year and meet the teachers. He was so excited to tell me about it when he got home. He is also really excited that he gets to ride the school bus.
We have also made a couple of trips to the Omaha Zoo, a couple of trips down to Peru and out too the farm. we will post some new pictures after the weekend is over.

Marathon Weekend in Lincoln
Easter Pictures
Colin and I spent Easter out in Colorado with my mom this year. Our flight was great and Colin had so much fun on the plane and behaved so well. On Easter Sunday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at Copper Mountain. Colin and Dominque(my step-sister) had a great time and it snowed the whole time we were at Copper Mtn. Then the week after Easter we went out to the Keiser Farm. Here our a few pictures from Easter.

March Happenings
As always we are busy. I know that isn't a very good excuse. Brian had his first race of the year yesterday the State Farm Run next is the Lincoln Full Marathon. That is right Brian has been training since fall for it and the last couple of weeks he has been running 16-20 miles on Sat. mornings. He is busy with school and is getting ready to go out to Denver this next week for a confrence. Colin has been staying pretty healthy. He had a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago then he was off his antibotic for couple of days then he started running a fever. Colin's speech is improving everyday and we are amazed by his progress his LPS teacher Maureen still comes every Friday morning to see him. Colin and I have made another trip to the Omaha Zoo on a nice Friday at the beginning of the month. In other news the same day Colin and I went to the Zoo the transmission went out in our car that evening. After sitting and thinking about it for almost a week we decided to get it fix and not buy another car. The same day we picked up the car we took Brian's truck into the shop to get new brakes and get it looked at. We have been enjoying the nice March Days playing outside and made a trip to the Park on St.Patty Day. And our walks on City Campus after our Friday Pasta Dinners at Spaghetti Works. As always thanks for checking in on us.

Feb. Happenings
Busy that is the story of our life. So far this month we have enjoyed a trip to the Omaha Zoo, game night at Jamison's house, trip to the farm, Super Bowl Party, playing outside on the 60degree days, playing in the snow, trip to the Dr.,trip to St.E's for abdominal xrays(he was having a poop issue) and birthday parties. Tonight we will be going to church for a Valentine Dinner put on by the youth group. Brian has been busy traing for the Lincoln full marathon which will be in May and working out almost everynight of the week plus staying busy with school and work. Brian attened our neighborhood meeting at the beginning of the month to listin and voice his concern's for Matt Talbott moving into the neighborhood. If you have not been following this city council passed it and they will start work on it come fall. Now for a couple of pics from this month so far.

Colorado Vacation
A week after we get home from vacation I finally have time to sit down and update. Colin had a blast skiing for the first time as you can tell in the pictures. When you ask him about it he will act it out then tell you that he fell down the hill and hit his head. He won't stop talking about skiing. So I think we are going to make sure he gets up on the slopes a couple times a year. He had no problems at all while we were out there with the altitude and his lungs. And we had great weather the whole week we were out there. It was great getting to spend time with my mom, Lancer, Dominque and Acacia.
Brian starts classes back up this week, so life will be busy once again until May when we have a couple weeks break. We have a couple of projects we want to start working on inside the house and the big one I want to have done before Summer is our bedroom floors. We have wood floors but they need some serious work. Also want to look at building a shelving area under our stairs(but then we would loose our tornado shelter). Colin's LPS teacher continues to come out every week to Preschool/daycare to work with him. He is making a big improvment and can't get over how far he has come. Come March we will once again apply for the EXCITE Program with LPS.
Colin continues to amaze us everyday and we have been so blessed to have had such a healthy winter so far.
Until next time
God Bless
