Part 2-Dogsledding

Today we went on an adventure of a lifetime. We went Dogsledding(Brian,Colin,Dominque and I). It was so much fun and we went on a 5 mile route, the dogs were great and Colin loved getting out and petting and hugging every single dog every time we stopped. Did i mention there was 12 dogs pulling our 2 sleds. After we got back to our post Colin got to help feed the dogs meat soup. Brian got to drive one of the sleds as I sat in the sled with Colin. This afternoon we went back into town to find Colin some ski boots. At the second shop we finally found some that would work with his wide feet.So tomorrow morning Colin will attempt his first run on the slopes. He can't stop talking about going skiing. O and Im happy to report he is having no problems with his breathing so far up at this altitude. We are relaxing and playing a lot of scrabble and video games.

Holiday's and Vacation so far

Happy New Years to everyone. We had a great Christmas, and enjoyed spending time with both of our families. We are now on our second family vacation in 6 months and are spending it up in Leadville, CO. with my mom(Lila) and step-dad (Lancer) and my stepsister Dominque. We drove to Denver on Saturday and stayed at the Marriott City Center for the night in downtown Denver and then went out to eat dinner at a brewery with our friends Garrett and Rupi. Sunday morning we got up really early and went for a swim around 6 and then got ready for the day and headed up to Summit County to do a little shopping and then headed up to Leadville,CO. to meet up with my sister Acacia and her boyfriend Dan so we could follow them up to my mom's house at Beaver Lakes Estates.
will update more later Colin is grumpy and doesn't want me on the computer.

December thoughts

Wow, What a month so far and we are only into the second week of the month. Please keep my sister Audra in your prayers as she lost her boyfriend Brandon in a car accident over the weekend. Also keep his family in your prayers as well.
We had a great Thanksgiving with our families and as always we ate way to much. Brian and Colin braved the Black Friday madness and went out and bought a new camera for us. It is the camera we have been keeping an eye on for almost a year now and we got the lens i wanted with it. so check out the link and take a peek at the camera it is shown with the 55mm lens, and we got the 200mm lens with it also.http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/ProductDetail.page?pid=25420. I just the camera and could go on and on about how great of pics it takes but i will let you look at the pics and decide for yourself. Enough about the camera.
We braved the cold on Sat. and went to the Star City Holiday Parade. Then Sunday Brian ran in the 5k Holiday Run in the morning. Brian is busy studying for finals and we are ready for our vacation to the mountains. Thanks for checking in on us.

House Projects

So we have officially finished painting the garage and house and the gutters are almost all up. We can't get over how much better the house looks with the "new" foundation. We have been busy this weekend raking the never ending leaves, after this last spring we learned our lesson and will make sure every leaf is out of the yard and street before it snows. Colin has been staying pretty healthy. We went in for his 3 week check up on the 14th and we have officially started his Asthma Action Plan for the winter. He will be taking his Pulmicort daily until Spring when we take him back him. Xopenex as needed and lots of prayers for a healthy winter. He still had a couple of lymph nodes on the left side of his neck that were swollen, and one on the right. They also found four in the groin area that were swollen. So we need to keep an eye on them and let them know if they get any bigger. He did start to have a nasty runny nose yesterday and a cough started last night. So we are going to start up the Xopenex and give the the Dr.'s a call in the morning too see what they want us to do. The Dr did give us a lot of good info for our vacation that is coming up in a little over a month. Colin will be making his first trip to over 10,000 feet also known as my mom's house. We are worried about his oxygen levels once we get up that high, but we will be prepared and have a game plan in place. We can't get over its Thanksgiving week, we are looking forward to seeing Aunt Acacia , Uncle Dave and Aunt Sarah who are all coming in from out of state. Will update more soon. Have a great week..

Halloween

My office all dressed up for Halloween.

Colin and Dr. Rhodes next to Billy Alley's sprint car

I know I haven't been very good about this blog. But, we have been really busy working on the outside of the house and by the time we get home at night its dark and we all want to go to bed.
We had a great Halloween Week, Sunday the 26th we had the Parents Reaching Out Halloween Party, Tuesday 28th Trick or Treat at my office, Wed. 29th Trunk or Treat at Church ,Thursday Colin had his Hallween Party at Preschool then Friday came around he was pretty much done with the whole Hallween stuff. We did make it to a couple of houses, Aunt Amber's, Grandma Nancy(neighbor boys gma who lives a couple door down from us)and a coworkers house. Colin was a bat this year and let me tell you he was one cute bat. We did manage to get the siding up on the North side of the garage in Oct. and last weekend we got the new gutters up and then the biggest task of all this fall, my Dad and Whitlow got the foundation done on Nov.3. It looks like a totally different house now and we can't wait for Spring to come so we can get out there and work on landscaping. Colin has been staying pretty healthy, he was on some antibotics for a Sinus Infection and we started Pulmicort back up every day and Xopenex as needed for his lungs. He took his last dose of antibotics on the 3rd and by the 4th his lymph nodes on the left side of his neck and jaw line were pretty swollen so they started him back on some more antibotics for 10days. They found it weird that he got an infection in the lymph nodes that quick after his last dose of antibotics. But this is Colin we are talking about! Thanks for checking in on us.

Welcome

Hello friends and family after 3 years on carepages we have decided its time to move over to a blogspot. Colin is doing so well and since carepages changed their format over the summer we haven't been on it as much for updates.(really we don't like the new format). We will see how this goes.
